Business Transformation – Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) & Virtual Servers to DTC
Business transformation and flexible working. DTC utilise Cloud9enterprise for core ICT services.
DTC needed to update their ICT environment to ensure they continued offering customers a high level of service and could maximise productivity. They implemented a BUsiness Transformation programme that included upgrading all core ICT services:
– Servers; web, application and file servers
DTC have limited internal ICT resource and outsource help-desk to a 3rd party. They had a high cost of ownership and an inflexible, traditional ICT estate.
Key elements of our ICT infrastructure had reached end of life, we considered a replacement programme but that would have been timely and costly and we didn’t want to find ourselves in a similar situation in the future. We had faith in Cloud9 and decided to do a full business transformation of our ICT service to them. We’ve noted a major service improvement, smooth migration and very few ICT challenges. We’ve been delighted with the service and support we’ve received and the business transformation project went much smother than we ever envisaged.

Cloud9 Business Transformation Deliverables(VDI)
DTC needed to migrate to a new ICT platform in a way that have zero customer and business impact. The platform had to be fit for future growth whilst ensuring the user experience met expectations during the transition phase.
Cloud9 delivered a bespoke Virtual Desktop Infrastructure(VDI) image for all users to work with, allowing them access from any supported device. support for BYOD and for home / remote working.
In addition DTC utilise Cloud9 for all aspects of the services they deliver to their customers; demanding hoteliers and major hospitality chains around the world. This include their Virtual Server production environment; application and web servers as well as File Servers, Hosted Exchange with spam filters.
We deliver real-time hotel billing and guest services globally, our ICT is critical to everything we do. We needed to work with a hands-on partner that understood our unique business requirements. Working in the cloud is new to us and so we needed advice, guidance and support. We’ve been very happy with Cloud9 throughout.
Peter Evetts, Operations Director – DTC
Businesses often stick with what they know, which usually means traditional IT ownership. DTC realised this would result in high capex and long-term complexity. Working with a cloud service provider is a cultural and technical change, it’s important we work closely with them to ensure we effectively support them through there Business Transformation needs, allowing them to remain focused on delivering services to there customers.
